Noir&Sens project aims to develop an industrial tool for the surface heat treatment of wood that is efficient, reliable, flexible and with low energy consumption.

CoolWood® developed and tested an innovative storage process for maintaining the wood quality of logs.

RAISON evaluate the economic and silvicultural benefits of managing young deciduous stands using low-density designation and routing compared to conventional forest management through full thinning.

The OG PRI.FOR.MAN has developed different forest geographic layers that describe forest resources (growing stock volume, forest types, accessibility, and forest roads maps) implemented in a decision support system tool, providing support to the forest sector and emergence of new value chains.

A due diligence and traceability system for forest timber products requires a felling license and a contract with a forestry service provider. Necessary documents can be easily generated through a free online system that guides users through the process.

The online tool for roundwood quality classification helps users assess roundwood quality and understand grading criteria. It’s useful for forest owners aiming to improve wood mobilization. The tool provides guidelines for measuring dimensions, calculating volume, and identifying wood defects based on European standards, aiding in proper classification.

SiWaWa, part of the MOTI app, simulates forest growth over 30 years for one-dimensional pure stands. It helps determine silvicultural measures based on wood production goals. A standalone version allows field simulations right after recording a stand with MOTI.

The forestry services market is dynamic, requiring skilled contractors to meet demand and maintain competitiveness. However, knowledge of their efficiency, social responsibility, and environmental impact is often limited. This is especially problematic during large-scale disturbances when forest owners lack information on service providers' quality and reliability. To address this, the “MojGozdar” system was developed in Slovenia. It assesses forestry contractors on three levels: formal suitability, expert evaluation, and customer ratings. The system emphasizes sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and environmental responsibility, helping forest owners connect with reliable contractors and improving service quality through user feedback.

WoodChainManager, developed by the Slovenian Forestry Institute, is a web-based tool for estimating wood supply chain costs. It offers three user modules for assessing material costs of individual machines and total costs. This tool helps optimize harvesting systems by allowing users to test the impact of different technologies on total material costs. The simple matrix-based method visualizes the entire harvesting process, providing accurate cost calculations. WoodChainManager aims to increase awareness of cost management and enable direct comparison of various harvesting systems.
