LogistiCIPlus concerns the improvement of the efficiency of the energy balance and the containment of climate-altering gas emissions in the production of energy from woody biofuels derived from forest biomass, through the containment of energy inputs from traditional fuels in the transformation and transport processes of biomass and biofuels, as well as with the introduction of innovative technologies and methods of production, management, traceability and marketing. Strengthening wood biofuel producers from an economic, organizational, qualitative and environmental point of view is of considerable importance in order to increase the professionalism of the supply chain and ensure maximum traceability of products and transparency towards consumers. The project provides for the adoption of a tool to support the traceability and assessment of the environmental sustainability of woody biofuels based on the ISO 17225 and UNI EN 15234 certification scheme as well as on the specifications relating to the different types of solid biofuel (in particular ISO 17225-4 and UNI EN 15234-4 for wood chips).

The  activity aims to give strong support to the companies involved in the project in obtaining a certification capable of guaranteeing traceability, environmental and qualitative sustainability for the biofuels produced through tools to support the management of logistics for obtaining the raw material to produce wood chips, handling and treatment of the finished product. The goal is to lay the concrete foundations for improving efficiency in the organization of biomass collection and transformation sites and consequently significantly reduce CO2 emissions and other climate-altering gases produced during the phases of obtaining the raw material, handling, processing and marketing of woody biofuels. The activities lead to the recruitment and improvement of practices useful to companies to ensure the monitoring of material flows within the construction sites and logistic centers of the company, as well as certified information regarding the environmental impact of the company in producing biofuel.

The main objective of SISREP is to make use of the information obtained during inspections in the framework of aid for afforestation and the creation of forest areas in Castilla y León in order to:

• Use of the information obtained in the field for the management of the controlled files.
• Creation of a centralised and geo-referenced database with information on the state of plantations.
• To be able to predict, by means of artificial intelligence techniques, the success of future plantations.
• With the knowledge extracted, review and improve the planning of future actions, allowing the implementation of the most appropriate technical conditions for the new environmental circumstances.

To this end, an infrastructure has been designed and implemented that allows the digitalisation of the entire workflow, from data collection in the field to the use of these data in advanced statistical analysis tools.

The data collected in the field are for example species, altitude, density, slope, method, orientation, age, lithography, with or without sowing, or area.

El principal objetivo de SISREP es la puesta en valor de la información obtenida en las inspecciones en el marco de las ayudas a la forestación y creación de superficies forestales en Castilla y León para:

• Uso de la información obtenida en campo para la gestión de los expedientes controlados.
• Creación de una base de datos centralizada y georeferenciada con la información del estado de las plantaciones.
• Poder predecir, mediante técnicas de inteligencia artificial el éxito de futuras plantaciones.
• Con el conocimiento extraído, revisar y mejorar la planificación de actuaciones futuras, permitiendo la implementación de las condiciones técnicas más adecuadas a las nuevas circunstancias ambientales.

Para ello, se ha diseñado e implantado una infraestructura que permite la digitalización de todo el flujo de trabajo, desde la toma de datos en campo hasta la utilización de estos en herramientas de análisis estadístico avanzado.

Los datos recogidos en el campo son por ejemplo la especie, la altitud, la densidad, el pendiente, el método, la orientación, la edad, la Litografía, con siembra o no, o la zona.

Національна інвентаризація лісів (НІЛ) почалася в 1919 році як результат стурбованості та непевності щодо стану лісів.
Схема базується на мережі постійних пробних ділянок, розкиданих по всій Норвегії як на лісових, так і на нелісових територіях.

Цикл вимірювань на ділянках становить п’ять років. На пробних ділянках, розташованих на лісових землях або інших типах земель з деревами, усі дерева, що ростуть на площі 250 м², вимірюються з урахуванням їхніх координат, що дозволяє встановити часові ряди на рівні дерев. Окрім запасів насаджень, приросту і порід дерев, вимірюється ряд інших параметрів для отримання інформації, наприклад, про продуктивність ділянки, структуру насаджень, їхній стан, умови ведення лісового господарства і біорізноманіття.

Ці дані слугують важливим підґрунтям для розробки національної лісової політики і використовуються державними установами, органами державного управління, лісовою промисловістю, в дослідницьких і навчальних цілях, а також для національної та міжнародної звітності. Розробка і тестування додатків для дистанційного зондування також є важливою сферою досліджень в рамках НІЛ. Наповнення інвентаризації регулярно оновлюється з урахуванням нових вимог суспільства. 

Мета проєкту – розробка комплексного методу визначення вибраних таксаційних характеристик деревостанів, наземної біомаси та вуглецю за допомогою даних дистанційного зондування для планування ведення лісового господарства.

Завдання проєкту включають:

• збір та обробка польових даних і даних дистанційного зондування,
• визначення кількості біомаси та вуглецю в лісах на основі радіолокаційних даних,
• розробка методів інвентаризації вибраних таксаційних характеристик деревостанів і біомаси на основі активних методів дистанційного зондування,
• розробка методу локальної корекції дендрометричних формул на основі даних, отриманих із застосуванням технології наземного лазерного сканування (НЛС), та
• розробка алометричних формул і показників накопичення біомаси (BEF), що дозволяють конвертувати об'єм товарної деревини на наземну біомасу та вуглець.

Результати проєкту сприяють скороченню часу та вартості робіт з лісовпорядкування, зокрема інвентаризації, дозволяють отримати точніші дані про баланс CO2, біомасу та розрахункові лісосіки, а також визначити запас деревостану і таксаційні характеристики для будь-якої лісової ділянки. 

Le groupe opérationnel Forest-LidaRioja a été formé dans le but de développer un inventaire forestier et une carte du modèle de combustible de La Rioja en utilisant les technologies de télédétection.

Cet outil contribue à la mise en place d'une gestion durable des forêts en utilisant des données précises et actualisée comme support de décision pour mettre en place des actions spécifiques dans les zones forestières.

Ce projet a permis de développer des méthodologies et des processus pour l'intégration de différentes sources d'information (principalement le LiDAR aéroporté des données PNOA 2016 et les informations satellitaires OPTICA). Ces méthodes sont soutenues par le développement d'algorithmes qui corrèlent par des méthodes statistiques des données précises de terrain avec les données LiDAR, nécessitant la réalisation de parcelles forestières très bien calibrées et de mesures situées avec une précision sub-métrique dans des points stratégiques pour chaque espèce forestière et zone de travail.

Les principaux résultats du projet Forest-LidaRioja sont les suivants :

- Inventaire forestier des forêts de La Rioja.

- Cartographie des modèles de combustible de la zone forestière de La Rioja pour planifier les travaux de prévention des incendies de forêt.

- Étude de l'évolution des peupleraies de la région et de leur potentiel d'approvisionnement.

- Formation technique sur les produits générés pour les professionnels intéressés par leur utilisation pratique. 

Les produits générés sont ouverts au public afin que chacun puisse les télécharger et les utiliser.

Cet outil détermine les activités sylvicoles optimales pour gérer de multiples produits, biens et services tels que la production de biomasse, la séquestration du CO2, le risque d'incendie, l'approvisionnement en eau, la résilience climatique ou la biodiversité, qui sont simultanément quantifiés dans le temps et l'espace pour une solution choisie.

Principaux avantages :

- Passer d'une approche mono-objectif à l'inclusion d'un groupe de biens et services écosystémiques.

- Améliorer les performances économiques des zones sous-productives en quantifiant et en valorisant d'autres ressources qui pourraient être rémunérées sur la base de leur valeur environnementale.

- Optimisation holistique des multiples biens et services de la gestion forestière.

- Adaptation aux caractéristiques spécifiques de chaque lieu.

- Résultats multi-échelles (parcelle, unité de travail forestière, bassin versant, etc.)

C.A.F.E. est un outil qui combine la simulation écohydrologique dynamique avec l'optimisation multicritères, où l'utilisateur peut réaliser la gestion forestière en fonction de plusieurs produits en même temps, et choisir la pertinence de chaque objectif/produit. Ce logiciel est capable de fonctionner dans différentes régions climatiques en calibrant au préalable la simulation éco-hydrologique.

Il est possible de modifier l'échelle spatiale, de la parcelle au bassin versant, en intégrant une unité biophysique forte.

Il est également possible de simuler différents scénarios climatiques. Le résultat est un ensemble de solutions possibles parmi lesquelles le gestionnaire forestier peut décider et appliquer.
