The Operational Program Competitiveness (POC) supports investments to meet the needs and challenges of low levels of economic competitiveness, in particular with regard to (a) insufficient support for R & D and innovation (RDI), and (b) underdeveloped infrastructure and thus poorly developed services, thus positioning itself as a factor generating horizontal interventions in the economy and society, capable of enhancing growth and sustainability.
The Research-Development-Innovation Axis is strategically justified by the multiplier role of these areas and the direct support they contribute to smart specialization objectives and promotes new growth opportunities, especially in a limited number of priority areas focused on comparative advantages of Romania.
